A Heroes Journey

Sony DMPC was a commercial interior design collaboration between Sonys internal customer experience and business development teams, A branding and strategy group out of Nashville by the name of Confidante and Moniker Design Studio. Confidante approached us to bring their brand concept to life for the new Alpha line of digital cameras within the Sony DMPC facility in Los Angeles. The DMPC was a multi use space for Sony at the time doing everything from repair and troubleshooting for their Pro team members to being a test shooting stage for cinematographers to test out Sony's newest technology and production equipment. 

Using the concept of a “heroes journey” we led customers and guests on a passive way finding based path through the facility showcasing Sony’s past and present and the concept of storytelling through visual arts. Custom retail displays modeled after firepits showcased new products, and amphitheater seating brought people together for events. Unique portal and material transitions created unique spaces in an otherwise undefined space and tons of large scale imagery brought human scale to the experience.
